Here is a beautiful shikishi or Japanese painting. Used to decorate tea ceremony rooms, they are meant to be changed depending on the season. This is done on a special card (the gold and silver flecks are visible on the back) This is a watercolour painting. Beautifully rendered.
They measure 27 cm x 24 cm roughly 9.5" x10.5". Some small marks and imperfections.
THIS SHIKISHI IN NOT MINT! Please be aware there are flaws and marks. NOT suitable for those looking for perfection, but for those who appreciate the philosophy behind wabi-sabi. Unfortunately, I can't translate the calligraphy.
Please be aware that these are Vintage pieces and may have marks or blemishes (usually on the back see photo) sometimes the corners are a little bent from being fitted into the shikishi hanger. (again see photos) There is some variance in colour due to digital photography and what I see on my monitor may not be what you see on yours.
All items are described to the best of my ability there may be small or minor flaws which I have overlooked but I try to be as accurate as possible in my listing.
